SONY "HORIZONS"
ENHANCING THE USER EXPRIENCE THROUGH MEANINGFUL INTERACTIONS
The end product is a dedicated, cloud-based web application that handles device management and file storage for registered Sony products.
Micro-interactions can make a big difference when designed carefully. Inspired by Sony's design style, I explored ways to make routine dashboard tasks more engaging and lively.
Sony's products have been a mainstay in my life from their TVs to their Playstations so I wasn't starting from zero. However, a more intentional look into the brand and what it seeks to communicate to the user was necessary.
UNDERSTANDING THE SONY BRAND
Curated a mood board consisting of their various software and hardware - the goal was to identify consistent branding and design choices across the different platforms. Additionally, I also used this project as an excuse to use my Playstation 5 more than I normally would.

USERS EXPECT THE SONY EXPERIENCE TO BE VISUAL AND PREMIUM
It was important to understand what the Sony experience means to people - How it makes them feel and also what they expect.
In conducting my surveys, I noticed one of the questions in my user interview provided the most interesting responses: The question was "What stands out the most to you when using Sony products?" and most of the answers shared a common theme - the audio/visual signatures. From idle animations to even simply the sounds made when interacting with a button or a menu. All of these sensory experiences left a much bigger impression on my interviewees than anything else.

FINAL DESIGNS
Interactions and their visual cues mostly focused around two core functionalities: Device management (screen sharing) and file management (folder upload).
